We are delighted to report that one of the ‘Spiroflow’ Flexible Spiral Conveyors with which our name is synonymous is performing ‘brilliantly’ for boiled sweet manufacturer Joseph Dobson & Sons Ltd. In the application at Dobson’s, the conveyor is operating as a reliable, accurate and highly repeatable volumetric feeder. It is delivering sugar from a sack tip hopper to a steam pan some 3 metres away. It is in this steam pan, a pressure vessel mounted on load cells, that the base ingredients of sugar, glucose and water are weighed, mixed and pre-heated before being transferred to traditional open pans […]

It’s not often that customers take the trouble to send suppliers unsolicited testimonials but that’s exactly what Bernard Partridge, Technical Advisor for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) at Harwell did for us! We supplied a Flexible Screw Conveyor to transfer the cement which UKAEA use to encapsulate radioactive waste within their Liquid Effluent Treatment Plant (LETP). It used to take them 25 to 30 minutes to discharge each of the 11 ingredients used in the production of fish feed for industrial fish farming. Now one tonne bulk bags (FIBC’s) are discharged in around 5 minutes.
