Pacepacker Named “Company of the Year”

Posted on 19th December 2011 by

Spiroflow Systems, exclusive distributor of Pacepacker solutions in the Americas, is proud to announce Pacepacker’s designation as “Company of the Year,” by Food Processing Magazine. The Essex UK-based packing machinery manufacturer, Pacepacker, has received the top honor at the 2012 UK Food Processing Awards. This designation, Company of the Year, is for recent achievements in product development, customer service, sales and export. Pacepacker was also a finalist in the Robotics & Automation category for its bagging and palletizing solution at premium potato grower & packer, Preva Produce.

For the past 24 months Pacepacker, a manufacturer of packing machines including bagging, robot palletizing, and pick and place equipment, has deployed a strategic plan to strengthen its market position during these tough economic times. The results were a 38% increase in export sales by entering new overseas markets, the development of the ‘FlexaPac’, a new patented tray loading machine providing a unique solution for packers of delicate netted food to increase throughput and reduce waste and the construction of an $80k test facility.

“Being chosen by the voters over some of UK’s biggest manufacturing names makes us very proud,” commented Pacepacker’s Managing Director Dennis Allison. “We are grateful to our loyal customers, suppliers, and technology partners who voted for us. Our results-driven strategic plan and dedicated team focus on activities made a positive difference during a tough economic period. We have benefitted through increased profitability and sales, and become a leaner, more customer focused and innovative company.”

Awards organizer and Editor of UK’s Food Processing Magazine, David Strydom stated, “Last year, Pacepacker won the Robotics & Automation Award – this year, it went one better and won Company of the Year. This is a particularly prestigious achievement considering that a finalist in this category requires proof of an upward trajectory. Pacepacker has grown 38% over the past three years, and considering how difficult the economic climate has been, this is a remarkable achievement well worthy of Company of the Year.” The annual Food Processing Awards celebrate all aspects of the food processing industry including automation, hygiene solution, packaging machinery, and environmental solutions.

Spiroflow Systems is proud of the recognition Pacepacker has received in the UK. “The Pacepacker brand is not only innovative but very cost effective as well,” stated Spiroflow CEO, Jeffrey Dudas. “We are excited to bring this robust product line into the Spiroflow family of material handling solutions. This offers our customers complete end-to-end solutions beginning with material entering the plant and ending with packaging and robotic palletizing.”
