Within our case studies section, you will find a range of case studies that feature our product range and illustrate the various methods we use to successfully handle and move a vast array of ingredients. You can search case studies either by product, by industry or by material.
For the ultimate in peace of mind, Spiroflow's AMC DART uses a load-cell system that checks that the tension is at the force determined for the diameter and length of the conveyor. It maintains it at that level by constantly adjusting the air supply to accommodate changing conditions. This is especially desirable where the product or the ambient air is subject to significant changes in temperature.
Spiroflow’s patented spout closure bars are a multi-functional feature available on Spiroflow Bulk Bag Discharge systems. They allow processors to: • Open bulk bags in a totally enclosed and dust-free manner • Partially empty, re-tie and remove bulk bags • Release batches from a bulk bag by weight or by volume
The build-up of static electricity is a serious safety issue in many modern processes where powders are handled. How a material flows, its conductivity and the atmosphere where it is processed have an effect on static build-up potential. Spiroflow has developed powder handling equipment where static grounding materials and controls are an integral part of the design.
Thorough mixing is achieved over a short length of material flow with the Spiroflow in-line twin screw continuous proportional blender. It is steplessly adjustable for any blend ratio and is designed for use with any free flowing powder, granular, flake or pelleted materials.
Not all materials flow freely from a hopper, storage silo, bin, or other container. Their flow characteristics largely depend on the degree of coarseness in their particle shape and the amount of moisture or semi solid matter in their content. Different solutions to assisting material flow are required as the type of flow aid which may work with one material may not necessarily suit another, or even another grade of the same material. For these reasons, Spiroflow offers a wide selection of flow promoters to suit the characteristics of various materials.
Multi-Way flexible screw conveyors allow up to three conveyors to be fed from a single feed point. The system features swivelling inlet assemblies that allow the conveyors to be quickly installed and positioned as required, giving users valuable operational flexibility. Dry, free flowing products (sugar, salt, rusk, plastic granules and many other materials) are fed smoothly and consistently - without the pulsing that occurs with pneumatic systems - allowing ingredients and additives to be metered to processing and packaging machines.
Spiroflow offers the GD-53 Gaylord box dumper for Gaylords up to 48” x 48” and maximum load 2,500 lb. Standardized hydraulic dumper assemblies are designed to rotate and empty the contents of Gaylord type containers, boxes, tubs or carts. Each hydraulic box dumper unit is shipped fully assembled and ready for operation. Other sizes are available.
Do you receive material that must be broken up before it will reliably discharge from its bulk bag? Spiroflow's small footprint Bulk Bag Conditioner makes short work of conditioning even the most difficult products. Simply move the bulk bag between the horizontal poles with a forklift, hoist or automatically using motorized conveyors, and actuate the hydraulic drive mechanism to quickly and efficiently break up solid ingredients.
Spiroflow bin activators have fully adjustable, blades for accurate and repeatable control of dry bulk solids flow. Energy is imparted directly into material by vibrating close tolerance blades to maintain flow and provide positive shut off. Our bin activators are available in two standard sizes and custom sizes as required.
Not all materials flow freely from a hopper, storage silo, bin or other container. Spiroflow offers a wide selection of flow promoters to suit the characteristics of various materials. Our experience over many years has shown that the great majority of handling problems can be solved with their use.
Many processors need to convey raw materials or premixes to several points, but either lack of space or intermittent usage means that separate feed systems cannot be justified. Mobile feeders can provide the answer. Easy to maneuver and adjustable in delivery height, they can also be fitted with customized options to enhance their versatility. Many of our mobile conveyors have been custom built to satisfy space restrictions, e.g. fitting under mixers & grinders. Even bulk bags (FIBCs) and rigid IBC dischargers can be supplied on mobile frames with integral flexible screw feeders.
Spiroflow offers a range of Friable Material Conditioners for times when a particular material requires additional ‘conditioning’ ahead of processing or packaging. Our Friable Material Conditioners are furnished with a mesh to ensure only material ‘conditioned’ to the correct specification passes to process or packing. We currently offer 3 standard models: FM100 (2,200 lb/hr), FM200 (4,400 lb/hr) and FM300 (6,600 lb/hr), but special versions can easily be made to fit any size and/or shape of hopper.
