Chemical Dosing Systems for effluent and water treatment.

Spiroflow has a long history of supplying dosing systems for the treatment of potable water, waste water, effluent and sewerage in both industrial and utility applications.

Spiroflow has expanded and updated its range of powder handling systems so that they are ideally suited to the accurate discharging and metering of water and effluent treatment chemicals. As a result, we are able to help Waste Management companies comply with the Landfill Directive (EC), Chemical and Other Processing companies comply with the regulations covering the discharge of effluent into rivers and stream and Utility companies to meet their quality obligations in terms of domestic water supplies.

Chemicals used for pH, bacteria, taste and odour control such as hydrated lime, activated carbon and soda ash are delivered in various forms. At Spiroflow, we have the equipment to suit all applications whether dosing chemicals from silos, bulk bags or sacks. Bulk bag dischargers can be fitted with massagers for poor flowing products such as hydrated lime. This is particularly important for dosing stations that are un-manned for long periods of the day. Our systems eliminate dust and environmental contamination, they can handle and dose chemicals using either loss-in-weight or volumetric metering.

A wide range of conveyors may be used to achieve very accurate dosing with rates as low as 1kg/hr. Providing an even and consistent material flow, the Spiroflow systems can eliminate bridging of material and consequent starvation of the conveyor leading to the slurry tank.

Spiroflow works very closely with world leaders in Ejector Technology and this offers one of the most reliable, accurate and cost effective way of introducing solids into a liquid stream.

 Latest Development
Spiroflow, working together with ejector specialist Transvac Systems Ltd, has been quick to respond to the requirement for Containerised Dosing Systems whereby the solids additive handling system, the dosing ejector and all controls including safety and alarm systems are housed in a 20ft ISO Container. This approach massively reduces the cost of water treatment in those situations where a building would otherwise have to be erected. And, of course, they are mobile and can be available for transfer to any location at short notice to deal with a seasonal or emergency situation.

Benefits of Spiroflow dosing systems:

A. Bulk Bag Discharger

  1. Bulk Bag loaded: into support frame at ground level, directly into the discharger using our special hanging frame or hoisted into place using an integral lifting beam and travelling hoist.
  2. Dust-free discharge of chemicals from Bulk Bag.
  3. Reliable, unaided discharge of chemicals even from compacted bags.
  4. Integral Flexible Screw Conveyor transfers chemicals to a buffer hopper.
  5. Low level alarm indicates when bag needs replacing. The dosing system can be designed to include a buffer hopper holds enough material to satisfy overnight demand until bag can be replaced during the following day.
  6. Designed and manufactured by Spiroflow, pioneers of Bulk Bag Discharging for over 20 years.

B. Flexible Screw Conveyors

  1. Uncomplicated, highly reliable design, only one moving part. No bearings or seals to fail. Trouble-free operation is ensured.
  2. Totally contained conveying, no exhaust air filtration required.
  3. High accuracy volumetric metering from 1kg to several 100kgs / hour.
  4. Designed and manufactured by Spiroflow, leader in Flexible Spiral Conveyor and additive metering technology for over 30 years.

C. Ejectors

We work with world leaders in ejector technology. Their systems
incorporate a battery of sensors to detect the slightest imbalance
to the required flow and dosing rates. In the event of an incident
alarms can be sounded and the system shut down.

D. Controls

Our controls are designed and manufacture in house at Spiroflow.
They incorporate the very latest in PLC driven controls and monitoring equipment.
