MODELS & OPTIONS

Spiroflow bag dump stations are offered a standard size but it is common for us to design custom sized hoppers to meet specific application requirements.  Simply let us know how you plan to manage dust and the empty bags & we can deliver a cost-effective solution that will optimally suit your application needs.

ModelDescription
BDS Bag Dump Station (No Filtration)Our manual BDS Bag Dump Station is designed for end users who require an economical way to add smaller (20-50 lb / 10-25kg) bags of material into their process.

The unit is 38” / 97cm high by 36” / 91cm square inside with steeply angled side walls that smoothly transition to a 45° discharge opening at the bottom.

The open top surge hopper has a calculated volume of 6 ft3 / 170 L.

A grid with a bag splitter is mounted over the bag dump opening to support the bag. This allows the operator to manually cut open the bag or to use the included bag splitter mounted to the grid.

All gaskets are food grade.

The support legs are equipped with anchor pads.
DSE Filtered Bag Dump StationOur DSE Filtered Bag Dump Station is designed for end users who require dust filtration. It includes everything listed above plus a duel cartridge type dust collector with automatic alternating reverse pulse jet cleaning utilizing spunbond polyester filters.
Optional Components
Hopper Level ProbeA Level Probe can be mounted through the side of the hopper to indicate low and/or high solids level in the hopper. (NEMA 4, Intrinsically Safe for XP classified areas & ATEX compliant versions)
Hopper Vibrator (Electric)An electric vibrator can be used to aid the flow of materials that can bridge in the hopper.

Controls are available.
Hopper Vibrator (Pneumatic)A pneumatic vibrator can be used to aid the flow of materials that can bridge in the hopper.

It is supplied complete with a micron filter regulator & a manual 3-way valve.

The pneumatic vibrator requires 60-80 P.S.I. air.
Hopper AgitatorA Hopper Agitator can be mounted across the lower section of the hopper.

It is used to promote the flow of materials & break up most soft agglomerates before entering the conveyor.

A Motor Starter is available.
Solimar Air Pad SystemA Solimar Air Pad System includes 3 air pads, a solenoid, timer board & air regulator for NEMA 4 and ATEX rated UK equivalent.
Bag Support ShelfA 10” / 25cm work shelf can be included to support the bag. The shelf is mounted to the Bag Dump Station and allows a bag to be supported prior to being emptied.
Alternative Outlet FlangesOur standard outlet flange is 45° however outlet flanges with an angle of 0°, 15° or 30° can be provided.
Dust Collector Control PanelControls for dust collectors can be supplied for NEMA 4, NEMA 4X or ATEX rated environments.

The control panel is mounted to the bag dump station and includes an appropriately rated enclosure, disconnect with fusing, blower motor, START pushbutton, STOP pushbutton, ON pilot light & an EMERGENCY STOP pushbutton.
Optional Integrated Bag Compaction Units
DescriptionIntegrated Bag Compaction Units can be added to our basic BDS Bag Dump Station or our Filtered DSE Bag Dump Stations to keep your processing environment dust-free and clean. These units are offered in two standard sizes, with or without integral dust filtration.
DBE-35 Bag Dump CompactorsThe DBE-35 Bag Dump Station which includes a 3.5 ft3 / 99 L hopper, plastic access curtain & vent connection, work shelf & grate, is fitted with bag compaction unit to receive emptied bags.

Offered with or without an integrated dust filtration unit - 500 ft3/ 14m3, 45 ft2 / 4.2m2 filter & pulse jet cleaning.
DBE-7 Bag Dump CompactorsThe DBE-7 Bag Dump Station which includes a 7 ft3 / 198 L hopper, plastic access curtain & vent connection, work shelf & grate, is fitted with bag compaction unit to receive emptied bags.

Offered with or without an integrated dust filtration unit - 500 ft3/ 14m3, 45 ft2 / 4.2m2 filter & pulse jet cleaning.

CONFIGURATIONS

Bag Dump Stations are also known as Bag Dump Hoppers, Sack Tip Stations, Bag Tip Stations, Sack Unloaders, and Bag Unloaders but regardless of the terminology managing dust is always a consideration.

Dust problems caused by emptying bags of fine, aerated or volatile powders can be eliminated with a properly configured bag dump station.  This not only ensures that a healthy environment is maintained in your process area but also helps reduce maintenance and repair problems caused by powder contamination to surrounding machinery.

Here are a few different bag dump stations but keep in mind that we manufacture this type of equipment based on your application needs so you the size and features are exactly what you need.  Talk with our engineers to solve your processing challenges.

This is a simple bag dump station with a bag support shelf, dust hood and plastic dust curtain.  It is ready to connect to a flexible screw conveyor & dust extraction.  It is also fitted with a level probe and vibration.

This mobile bag dump station has a bag support shelf & grate, hinged access cover, vibration & integral dust extraction.  Material feeds into the integral flexible screw conveyor.

This is a basic bag dump station with a dust hood, bag support shelf and a spigot for connection to a plant dust extraction system. Notice that there are 2 flexible screws mounted in 2 different directions at the bottom of the hopper.  This unit is bolted into the floor while operating but it is fitted with castors so it can easily be moved to another location.

These bag dump stations, being prepared for shipping, are fitted with a glove box so the operator is never in direct contact with the material.  Bag compaction units will be connected to the square opening once installed at the end user’s facility.
