Our Base Model Bulk Bag Fillers have a simple frame for low volume filling of non-hazardous materials.
Our Spirofil Base Model Bulk Bag Fillers have a simple frame, are robust and can be constructed from Steel-It polyurethane coated carbon/mild steel or stainless steel as the environment dictates. Bulk bag unloading can be by forklift or pallet truck.
The inflatable neck seal ensures that dust doesn’t escape into the atmosphere. The filling head contains a dust filter to remove material carried away in the stream of displaced air. Filtration is unnecessary for dust-free granular materials such as certain plastics.

HOW IT WORKS & BENEFITS
Our Base Model Simple Frame Bulk Bag Fillers are of particular interest to companies using bulk bags to store and/or transfer raw materials, semi-processed or finished products. This economical bulk bag filling choice should be considered when:
- Flow control is handled by a feeder, conveyor or other means of delivery.
- An operator continuously monitors the fill progress or material delivery operates on a timer or is transferring pre-weighed batches.
- No weights and measures guarantees are required.
- Only a few bulk bags are to be filled per day.
- The product deaerates well and therefore doesn’t require compaction. Alternatively, filling needs are so low that the bags can be left to hang until stable. Unstable bags containing aerated material are a safety hazard as they can fall over.
- Our Spirofil Base Model Simple Frame Bulk Bag Fillers are robust and are constructed from Steel-It polyurethane coated carbon/mild steel or stainless steel as the environment dictates. Filled bulk bags can be removed by forklift or pallet truck.

Spiroflow only offers their Spirofil Simple Frame Bulk Bag Fillers for applications where we are confident of their suitability.
YOUR REQUIREMENTS
Before selecting a particular bulk bag filler, some key factors need to be considered. This not only helps to assess a customer’s own particular needs but also assists our design engineers in determining the optimum system for those needs.
Q. How do we handle the bulk bag?
A. By pallet or by the bag loops.
Q. What bag style and size do we use?
A. At this stage, you should consult both the bag manufacturer and Spiroflow. The bag needs to optimize all its volume for safe storage and transport.
Q. How do we contain dust?
A. An inflatable neck seal effectively contains the dust during filling. All our filling heads have an inner product flow and an outer annulus for dust evacuation. A dust extraction port is also included.
Q. Can the filling system be automated?
A. If filling by volume, options such as pallet dispensers, automatic bag loop release, bag take-off and accumulation conveyors should be considered. These can be added at a future date to standard Spiroflow bulk bag filling equipment.
Q. Will the equipment need to be grounded?
A. If the area poses an explosion risk, static dissipative or groundable bags may be recommended together with a suitable static monitoring device.
Q: Can we use nitrogen purging?
A: Nitrogen purging is an option. Traditionally when bag filling, the bag would be inflated with air before filling commences, but nitrogen can be used instead to increase product shelf life.
Q. Do we need a bag liner?
A. If the product is very fine, you probably will, to prevent leakage or moisture ingress. However, various alternatives can be used such as coated bags or special bag seams. The liner must be inflated correctly to avoid creasing and subsequent discharge problems.
Q. Is your product highly aerated? Do you have problems producing upright, stable bags?
A. Usually, yes. Vibration at the base of the unit deaerates and compacts the product to optimize the bag volume and form a safe and stable load. The CTE bulk bag filler uses our patented Cone Table densification for highly aerated powders.
Q. Is automatic loop release and height adjustment available?
A. Automatic loop release is available but height adjustment is not offered on the CS Base Filler the C-Series & CTE bulk bag fillers offer height adjustment. Yes, automatic loop release of filled bags is a useful labor-saving option for pallet loaded bags. Powered height adjustment is also recommended if different sized bulk bags are being filled in order to speed up the filling process.
Q. Can the equipment be adapted to fill other containers?
A. Yes. Spiroflow supplies a range of options for filling rigid bins, drums, and boxes/octabins.
APPLICATIONS
Here is an example of one of the many processing solutions we provide utilizing CS Bulk Bag Fillers.
MODELS & SPECIFICATIONS
The Base Model Simple Frame CS Bulk Bag Filler is used for filling of bulk bags by volume.
Specifications | Model | Base Model Simple Frame CS Bulk Bag Filler |
Description | This filler is used for filling bulk bags by volume rather than weight. Welded to a steel base plate are two vertical pipes on which the horizontal loop support arms can be vertically adjusted. Mounted above the two loop arms is a frame that supports the filling nozzle if included. The two sliding sections are provided with locking pins for positive location. Filled bags are removed by releasing the neck from the filling spout, lifting the pallet & filled bag a few inches with a forklift & backing the bag out of the filler. Note: This system cannot be retrofitted with weighing, vibration or auto height adjustment. An alternative design is available for removing bulk bags by their loops. |

Dust Control/ Air Displacement | Fill nozzle with dust extraction vent The filling nozzle design includes an inner open-ended cylinder, with a second concentric cylinder (one end closed by an annulus) attached to it. The product passes through the center cylinder into the bulk bag while displaced air & dust is routed through the outer chamber & through a dust sock to a dust collection (by customer) connection. Bags are secured to the nozzle with an outer spring clamp. Product Contact Surfaces: Stainless Steel Only |
