What is a Bulk Bag Conditioner?

What is a bulk bag conditioner? Do you receive material that must be broken up before it will reliably discharge from its bulk bag? Does your material solidify during transportation?  If the answer to these questions is a yes then a bulk bag conditioner may help. At Spiroflow, we have more than 45 years of experience in the dry bulk material handling industry and we manufacture Bulk Bag Conditioners globally for a variety of different applications.

SO WHAT IS A BULK BAG CONDITIONER?

Bulk Bag conditioning is an important step in the process of unloading materials from a bulk bag. They are used to break up materials that solidify during storage or transportation.

Bulk Bag Conditioners are designed with two large pole arms to make short work of conditioning even the most difficult problems. Where you may have previously used manual labor to condition your products these machines can reliably break up any material for better flow during unloading.

They have been designed in a C-frame so have a relatively small footprint which means they can be stored near existing equipment and processes without taking up valuable floor space.

IS IT MANUAL OR AUTOMATED?

Bulk Bag Conditioners can be either manually operated or automated to best suit the application. At Spiroflow we manufacture three types of Bulk Bag Conditioners: 1. Fixed Mast, Manual Operation 2. Movable Mast, Manual Operation 3. Movable Mast, Automated.  This customisation will exactly meet any requirements.

WHAT KINDS OF MATERIALS NEED TO BE CONDITIONED?

Any material which settles in the bulk bags and solidifies, often during storage and transportation, and is then difficult to unload from the bulk bags.

Trimethoxyamphetamine (TMA), Phthalic Anhydride and Adipic acid are examples of difficult products we help to condition. The force between the poles is up to 3,500 PSI which means the conditioners are suitable for almost any application.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT SUPPLIER?

Choosing the right supplier is an important part of the process. With many different options and custom features, a reputable supplier will make sure you’re getting the right equipment to fit your needs. And at the right price.

Ask your supplier to provide case studies or technical drawings. And If in doubt, a test is always the best way to ensure your product is being conditioned correctly.
